Ethiopian Airlines has partnered with the Special Olympics Africa Region, demonstrating their commitment to inclusivity and raising awareness for individuals with different abilities. Nigusu Worku, Acting Vice President of ET-Holiday and Digital, expressed their enthusiasm about this partnership, stating, "We have welcomed a partnership with the Special Olympics Africa Region to include those who are differently abled and bring much-needed awareness to them." In a significant move, representatives from Ethiopian Airlines, including Firiehiwot Mekonnen, Kidist Maru, and Mary Legesse, convened at the Ethiopian Skylight Hotel in Addis Ababa for a signing ceremony of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU). This event marked the official partnership between Ethiopian Airlines and the Special Olympics Africa Region. The MOU was co-signed by Esayas Behayelu, a board member of Special Olympics Ethiopia and an athlete leader, along with Charles Nyambe, President and Managing Director of the Africa Region. This partnership underscores a collective commitment to promoting inclusivity, empowerment, and support for individuals with special abilities across the African continent.
