Zambia's field hockey is on the path to making history as the nation aspires to secure its first-ever senior Olympics qualification. Previously, Zambia qualified for the junior Olympics twice in 2014 and 2018, and now they will be looking to qualify for their first-ever senior Olympics. The African Hockey Road to Paris 2024, encompassing both the men's and women's divisions, will unfold at the University of Pretoria Hockey Stadium in Pretoria, South Africa, from 29th October to 25th November 2023. Eight men's and seven women's teams from the continent will engage in fierce battles for Olympic qualification. In the men's category, the gold medalists will secure an automatic ticket to the Olympics, while the runners-up will have to navigate the competitive FIH playoffs. Conversely, in the women's category, only the gold medalists will secure direct qualification for the Paris 2024 Olympics. Meanwhile, the African Hockey Federation has entrusted three Zambian officials with key roles at the upcoming African Hockey Road to Paris 2024 Qualifiers.
