Excitement filled the air as Team Zambia geared up for the upcoming Trinbago 2023 Commonwealth Youth Games. The stage was set, and anticipation was high as the young athletes prepared to showcase their talents on the international platform. The day dawned with promise, and swimmers Jade Phiri and Zach Moyo were eager to take their place on the competition stage. They were the first representatives of Team Zambia, and all eyes were on them as they prepared for their respective events. Jade Phiri, with determination in her eyes, was set to compete in the heats for the Women's 50-meter butterfly at 22:00hrs Zambian Time. On the other hand, Zach Moyo, focused and ready, was scheduled for the Men's 200-meter breaststroke at 23:55hrs Zambian Time. The swimming competitions would be held at the prestigious National Aquatic Centre in Port of Spain, Trinidad and Tobago. The young Zambian swimmers knew that this was their chance to make their nation proud, and they were ready to give it their all in the pool. As the sun rose on the second day of the games, the excitement continued to build. Team Zambia's cyclists were up next, and they were prepared to conquer the road race. Vanessa Matende, with determination etched on her face, was set to participate in the Women's Road Race at 21:00hrs Zambian Time. Gift Puteho, the talented male cyclist, would follow later, taking on the Men's Road Race at 01:00hrs Zambian Time. Meanwhile, the athletics events were also in full swing. Luyando Gamela, a promising young athlete, was ready to compete in the Women's 1500m heats at 22:50hrs Zambian Time. Alongside her, Abraham Kaluba, a determined runner, was set for the Men's 1500m heats at 23:05hrs Zambian Time. Another standout athlete, Joshua Mpanza, was scheduled for the Men's 400m Semi-final at 23:50hrs Zambian Time. The stadium echoed with cheers and applause as Team Zambia's athletes showcased their skills and determination. They knew that every step, every stroke, and every pedal mattered in their pursuit of excellence and pride for their nation. With the competition schedule laid out, Team Zambia was ready to leave its mark on the Trinbago 2023 Commonwealth Youth Games. As they stepped onto the various arenas, they carried the hopes and dreams of their country with them, united in their goal to shine on the international stage and make Zambia proud.
