Zambia's track athletes, Rhoda Njobvu and Patrick Nyambe, are making strides in their pursuit of securing spots for the upcoming 2023 World Athletics Championships in Budapest, Hungary, scheduled from 19th to 27th August 2023. Patrick Nyambe emerged victorious in the International Leichtathletik Meet held in Stuttgart, Germany, clocking an impressive time of 45.72 seconds in the 400m race at the World Athletics Continental Tour Bronze meet on Saturday, 29th July 2023. In the women's 400m race (final 2) at the Raiffeisen Austrian Open Eisenstadt 2023, another World Athletics Continental Tour Bronze level series, Rhoda Njobvu finished in third place with a time of 54.69 seconds during the event held on Wednesday, 26th July 2023. Both Nyambe and Njobvu are currently part of the Athletics Trio camped in Germany, diligently preparing for the highly anticipated 2023 World Athletics Championships. As the athletes continue to showcase their prowess, they aim to meet the qualifying standards of 45 seconds for the men's 400m and 51 seconds for the women's 400m events, thereby solidifying their participation in the prestigious Budapest Championships.
