National Olympic Committee (NOC) General Secretary, Boniface Kambikambi, encourages Team Zambia to compete for medals at the Commonwealth Youth Games while considering it as a stepping stone to senior events. The seventh edition of the Commonwealth Youth Games will take place from August 4 to 11 in Trinidad and Tobago. As the team was sent off, Kambikambi, who also serves as the Commonwealth Games Association of Zambia General Secretary, emphasized the importance of maintaining high standards of behavior and discipline throughout the competition. He expressed the hope that the young athletes would use the games as a pathway to future participation in the senior Commonwealth Games. Furthermore, Kambikambi expressed confidence in the potential of the cyclists participating in the youth games, believing they have the capability to reach the top bracket.
