All three Zambian golfers participating in the Fortress Invitational tournament at Glendower Golf Club find themselves on the brink of missing the cut today, following a challenging opening day. Madalitso Muthiya, Dayne Moore, and Sydney Wemba struggled to find their form and are now banking on a stellar performance today to secure a spot in the weekend competition. Lusaka golfer Madalitso Muthiya and Sydney Wemba both concluded the day with scores of three-under-par 75, while Dayne Moore was just one shot behind. Madalitso Muthiya faced four bogeys and managed one birdie during his round. Sydney Wemba's scorecard featured six bogeys and three birdies, and he remains hopeful that he can steady his game today to make the cut. His round included three bogeys and a birdie on the front nine, followed by bogeys on the 10th, 13th, and 16th holes, but he made a comeback with birdies on the 11th and 17th. Ndola golfer Dayne Moore had a challenging start with an opening bogey on the first hole and ended the front nine with bogeys on the eighth and ninth. A birdie on the 11th was followed by back-to-back bogeys on the 12th and 13th, resulting in a four-over-par finish for the day. As they head into the next round, these Zambian golfers are determined to bounce back and secure their spots for the weekend competition in the Fortress Invitational tournament.
