On the 17th and 18th of June 2023, the OYDC Zambia hosted various sports during the Teulings Youth Sports Challenge, with over 520 athletes competing in games like boxing, hockey, rugby, handball, and others. These games take place every weekend. According to Likemore Mahunje, the programs officer at OYDC Zambia, the center will be hosting the mid-year Teulings Youth Sports Challenge next month. He also noted that the athletes' enthusiasm and competitiveness are inspiring to watch, and sports associations should keep an eye out for these young athletes for future selections to clubs and national teams. The Teulings league games engage athletes under the age of 17 and are sponsored by Coen Teulings, the Chairman of Meridian Capital in Belgium. The league ends at the close of the year with a grand finale, where the top deserving teams, clubs, athletes, umpires, coaches, sports administrators, and media are rewarded with medals and trophies. Before the commencement of the games, all athletes received educative sessions on Olympic Values Education Programme (OVEP), child protection, alcohol, and other harmful substances. Richard Mulenga, the non-sports programs officer at OYDC Zambia, conducted the OVEP, while Inspector Michael Kasanda from the Zambia Police Child Protection Unit handled the child protection aspect.
