Ten Zambia Sub-Tennis Association (ZTA) Southern region clubs have called for an emergency general meeting (EGM) with the mother body for allegedly failing to run the affairs of the sport. Southern region spokesperson Revai Phakati said in an interview yesterday that clubs that met in Kabwe on May 6 have called for an EGM because ZTA has not held annual general meetings since 2021. He said that the EGM is in line with Article seven of the ZTA constitution which gives clubs powers to call for such a meeting. Phakati named the clubs in support of the EGM as Chibuluma, Ndola, Nchanga, Matero Boys, Serving Zambia, Justennis, Smash, Lusaka, Red Arrows and Correctional Service. He said that the clubs want ZTA among other things, to present the financial report since 2021 and share it with the rest of the members. Phakati alleged that the Gibson Phiri-led executive is not consistent and has been running the association like a Kanthemba (mini shop). Photo Credit-ZTA
