Seventeen-year-old prodigy, WILLIAM CHINZEWE, has emerged victorious as the winner of the highly esteemed 2023 African Draughts Championship. Dominating the Classic category, William secured the championship with a round to spare, culminating in a triumphant conclusion to the event held in Lusaka yesterday. With this impressive feat, Willy has now ascended to the esteemed title of Grand Master International, surpassing his previous distinction as a Federation Master. Throughout the tournament, he showcased his exceptional skills and strategic prowess, earning a remarkable collection of six medals: three gold, two silver, and one bronze. In an interview with ZNBC Sports News, an elated Chinzewe expressed his joy at becoming the youngest African draughts champion.
