In the midst of ongoing drama within the Zambia Motor Sport Association (ZMSA), President Sam Ching'ambu has firmly stated that his executive committee will not tolerate chaos in the administration of the sport. He affirmed that the Zambia International Rally will proceed, even if it meant without Zambian drivers. During a recent media briefing in Lusaka at the Show Grounds, Ching'ambu expressed disappointment at the behavior of some administrators who had taken their differences with ZMSA to the public instead of resolving them internally. He emphasized the importance of following established procedures and respecting authority. "We have been greeted with shock by the behavior of some of our officials. The guidelines of ZMSA are clear. When you have an issue, you have to engage with the body and not the media. We cannot tolerate anarchy in the sport," Ching'ambu firmly stated. Ching'ambu further explained that the ZMSA constitution had been amended during the 2021 annual general meeting, extending the tenure of office from two to four years. He clarified that only the election of the vice president was on the agenda, and the minutes of the meeting would not be shared with the media until they were officially signed. Expressing sadness at damaging and untrue statements that had been published, Ching'ambu emphasized that ZMSA operated within the bounds of its constitution, as well as under the guidance of FIM and FIA, the global governing bodies of motorsport and motorcycle racing, respectively. Furthermore, he regretted that the late Muna Singh Sr was being dragged into the ongoing confusion. Ching'ambu concluded by acknowledging that the situation was spiraling out of control, with numerous letters circulating amidst the confusion.
