The conclusion of the 2023 Inclusive Sport Festival has arrived, and it graced the heart of Lusaka at the Bank of Zambia Sports Complex, marking the conclusion of this year's celebration of inclusivity in sports. This triumphant event was characterized by a diverse array of sporting and non-sporting activities, attracting the participation of over 450 enthusiastic children. Under the theme of "Unity in Diversity: Inclusivity and Environmental Sustainability," all participants joined forces for an environmental cleanup initiative. This not only promoted the culture of environmental conservation but also emphasized the importance of environmental sustainability. The Guest of Honour for this momentous occasion was Agatha Banda from the Zambia Agency for Persons with Disabilities. The event also saw the presence of prominent figures such as Boniface Kambikambi, the Secretary-General of the National Olympic Committee of Zambia (NOCZ); Dickson Jere, a Board Member; Richard Lubanza, a Representative from the National Paralympic Committee of Zambia (NPCZ); Nchimunya Mweetwa, an IOC Believe in Sport Ambassador; Fredrick Chitangala, CEO of OYDC Zambia Sports Development Centre; Ezra Mwansa, General Secretary of the Centre for Persons with Disabilities; Rhoda Njobvu OLY, an esteemed athlete; and Enock Mwewa, an Environmental Activist. The festivities of the 2023 Inclusive Sport Festival weren't confined to Lusaka alone. Earlier in the week, the first and second commemorations took place in Maheba Refugee Camp and Livingstone, spreading the message of inclusivity and unity across different communities. As the final part of the festival unfolded in Lusaka, it served as a testament to the power of sport to unite people from all walks of life and promote not only physical well-being but also the vital importance of environmental stewardship.
