The Zambia Baseball5 Team has safely arrived in Ankara, Turkey, for the Youth World Cup taking place from October 10th to 15th, 2023. They received a warm welcome from Zambian Mission in Turkey Officials upon landing at Ankara Esenboga Airport. The competition begins with a group stage, with Group A featuring China, Cuba, Malaysia, Tunisia, Turkey, and Zambia, while Group B includes Australia, France, Ghana, Korea, Mexico, and Chinese Taipei. The Opening Round spans from October 10th to 12th, with ten games daily. The top three teams from each group will advance to the Super Round, while the other six teams will participate in the Placement Round. The Super Round, scheduled for October 13th and 14th, will determine the top two teams competing for the Youth Baseball5 World Champions title, and the third and fourth-placed teams vying for the bronze medal. The World Championship Finals are set for October 15th, preceded by the Bronze Medal Game. The Opening Ceremony, slated for October 10th at 18:30, will be followed by a match between hosts Turkey and Zambia, who have significantly improved their ranking from 28th to 17th. Furthermore, Chinese Taipei, leading the WBSC Baseball5 World Rankings, will face Australia just before the Opening Ceremony at 17:00. This event promises an exciting showcase of international talent in the world of Baseball5.
