Africa Directions has issued a challenge to the government, urging the establishment of sports and recreation centres in various constituencies as a measure to combat drug and substance abuse. Mark Chilongu, the Executive Director of Africa Directions, suggests that the increased constituency development fund could be utilized for this purpose. Chilongu emphasizes the importance of sports in creating safe spaces that can drive social change in communities nationwide. During the official opening of the second edition of the Lusaka Open Karate Championship, which had drawn participation from over 100 individuals, Boniface Tembo, Chairperson of the Dentokan Association of Zambia, expressed gratitude to the organization for its support. This second edition of the Lusaka Open Karate Championship features over 100 participants, spanning various categories, including those under 7 years old, middle classes aged 10 to 16, and senior categories, all showcasing their martial arts techniques. Both men and women delivered outstanding performances, impressing those in charge and earning well-deserved recognition for their skills.
