On 1st April 2023, National Sports Development Center hosted a basketball match for the Munali Suns and Matero Warriors. Munali suns have broken a record following a 70-63 Victory over Matero Warriors in the Basketball National Championships. Suns won the first game 57-55 but lost the second 81-70 for the teams to go for the third game. Suns, who will be taking part in the Basketball Africa League qualifiers for the first time, were very happy. "We are really happy because it was a really tough game," Suns coach Harry Chansa said. Meanwhile, Matero Warriors coach Ntilila Chaila was disappointed with the defeat because of the expectation he had. "It is disappointing to say the least because as Warriors, we were looking to compete in the Basketball Africa League qualifiers and that will not happen," Chaila said. Munali Suns Basketball
