Zambia's youngest international grandmaster, William Chinzewe, has had an exceptional run in the ongoing World Draughts 64 Championships in Turkey, securing two gold medals and a silver. In recent days, he has performed exceptionally well, impressing the Zambia Draughts Federation. However, his path was not without challenges, as he faced tough competition, including a key player he aspired to beat, whom he ultimately did, claiming the title of under-20 world champion. His most recent gold medal came after a draw with the current world champion, resulting in both of them winning gold medals. The Zambia Draughts Federation's general secretary expressed his satisfaction with the team's performance and hopes for success in the upcoming main event of the Classic. He said the team has come a long way, gaining recognition and proving their mettle in a highly competitive field of youth players. He sends a message of encouragement and optimism to William and Elijah, asking them to secure more victories in the main event.
