Did you know that the International Mixed Martial Arts Federation (IMMAF) is the sole world governing body for MMA in Zambia, recognized by the prestigious World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA)? Being a signatory of WADA places IMMAF one step closer to achieving its goal of making amateur MMA an official sport at the Olympics, making it the only global body currently engaging in discussions with the International Olympic Committee (IOC) regarding this recognition. Moreover, MMA Zambia holds a significant Vice Presidency position within the Africa MMA Confederation (AMMAC), the umbrella organization comprising all IMMAF-affiliated federations across the African continent. Impressively, AMMAC has expanded to include nineteen member federations, with continuous growth, making it a thriving presence across Africa. Another noteworthy fact is that all federations under AMMAC and/or IMMAF enjoy recognition from either their National Olympic Committee (NOCZ) or their national sports body, the National Sports Council of Zambia, or even both. Membership in IMMAF ensures that all member federations adhere to good governance practices and uphold transparency, contributing to the integrity of the sport. When it comes to the governance of Mixed Martial Arts in Africa, IMMAF stands unparalleled, boasting exceptional credentials and a remarkable number of member federations, unmatched by any other global governing body.
