In a momentous event earlier today, MMA Zambia proudly bestowed 17 international medals upon the Ministry of Youth, Sport, and Arts, all of which were garnered this year. Of the impressive collection, an astounding 13 were radiant gold medals, while the remaining four were secured through hard-fought professional competitions. Leading the presentation was MMA Zambia's President, Benjamin Z. Bush, accompanied by the accomplished professional EFC athletes, Ken Sekeletu and Cobra Dante (also known as Humphrey Mulenga). Greg Maluma, currently ranked as the #2 welterweight on the continent according to Tapology, represented the amateur contingent. The distinguished task of receiving these accolades fell upon the shoulders of the Minister of Commerce, the Honourable Chipoka Mulenga MP, acting on behalf of the Honourable Elvis Nkandu MP. A gracious note of gratitude is extended to P.S. Kangwa Chileshe and Mr. Raphael Mulenga, GS of the National Sports Council, for their unwavering support and contribution to this remarkable achievement. MMA Zambia's fervent dedication to the sport is evident in their robust roster of fifteen athletes, diligently honing their skills in preparation for the impending IMMAF - International Mixed Martial Arts Federation Africa Championships set to transpire next month in Angola. As the journey towards the championship intensifies, MMA Zambia expresses hope for continued backing from the Ministry and passionately appeals to the private sector to stand alongside them in their pursuit of clinching gold medals at this prestigious MMA tournament on the African continent.
