Eight (8) days away from the PacificAus Sports Netball Series in Australia, the Zambia National Netball team played Green Buffaloes men for a local friendly match. On Saturday, 15th April 2023, the Zambia Women's National Netball team lost 41-35 to Green Buffaloes Men’s Netball Club in a match played at NAPSA Sports Complex in Lusaka. Buffaloes started the game on a strong note and claimed the first quarter. However, the Lazarus Tembo-coached side turned around and won the second quarter. In the third quarter, Tembo rested the first 7 and introduced another set of players. The third quarter belonged to Green Buffaloes while the fourth quarter was an evenly contested affair that ended in a draw but the men in Green were the overall winners. Tembo has described the friendly match as a good test for his team. Zambia is however expected to participate in the incoming PacificAus Sports Netball Series which will be held in Australia from 23rd to 29th April 2023.
