2022 Teulings netball champions Olympafrica have begun the 2023 league on a poor note by losing league points for failing to play their opponents' team OYDC Zambia. The U-17 games played at the OYDC Zambia saw players from Olympafrica refuse to face energetic girls from OYDC Zambia and prompted the refereeing team to award OYDC Zambia a 10-0 walkover. OYDC Teulings netball coach, Felistus Chilinda wondered why the team, Olympafrica failed to face their opponents despite being champions of the 2022 Teulings Youth Sports Challenge. In an interview, Chilinda disclosed that coaches in the Tuelings Youth Sports Challenge have an ongoing strategy for 2023 that aims at exposing players to community leagues so that they can further stand a chance to be selected for national teams and clubs. Felistus further said that games played on Saturday, 22nd April 2023, went on very well with Chipata beating Shinning Light 17-11 while Mbombela beat Kabana Swift 12-7. "We kicked off our season on a good note. Most of the players showed up for the games despite Olympafrica losing on a walkover to OYDC Zambia. We aim to expose these players to more community leagues so that they can enjoy getting selected to national teams and other local clubs," She said. Meanwhile, other Teuling games organized by OYDC Zambia including football, handball, and Netball were played on Saturday and Sunday 23rd April 2023.
