Zambian riders will be competing at the 2023 FIM Africa Motocross of African Nations (MXOAN), hosted by Motorsport South Africa (MSA) and Zone 7 Speedspot MX Track, which is set to take place at Zone 7 Speedspot MX track in Cape Town from 11th to 13th August 2023. Other teams that have confirmed attendance include Angola, Kenya, Uganda, Morocco, Madagascar, Lesotho, Zimbabwe, Botswana, and Tanzania. The entries have broken records, with over 200 riders entering by the closing date. Zambia narrowly fell behind South Africa, who are the defending champions, by just one point. South Africa claimed the leading country award in 2022 after winning in Uganda with a score of 654. As one of the few team motorcycle sports under the Fédération Internationale de Motocyclisme Africa (FIMA) banner, all countries have strict selection criteria in place to ensure that only the best riders compete.
