The AUSC Walk for Life is currently underway in Livingstone, under the theme "Stop Violence Against Women and Girls." This event anticipates the participation of more than one thousand individuals from diverse backgrounds, all rallying behind the cause of "Stop Gender-Based Violence." Simultaneously, each of the nine Region 5 Member Countries will organize national walks, aiming to gather a thousand participants in each country, resulting in an estimated ten thousand people walking together across the Region. The activities planned for the event include 5km and 2.5km walks, aerobics sessions, fun and traditional games, as well as informative sessions on gender-based violence and other health and social issues affecting the community. Additionally, participants will have access to free health screenings, promoting a culture of physical activity and exercise to foster healthy and fit citizens. This walk is graced by Nkandu, Mweetwa, Sikumba, Katopola, Mutoya, Muleabai, and Nawa, alongside sixty delegates representing all ten Region 5 member countries and beyond.
