The Zambia Handball Association (ZHA) is gearing up for the forthcoming Olympic qualifiers in January 2024, set to take place in Egypt. To ensure strong preparation for these championships, the association has organized a series of matches featuring both the men's and women's senior teams. On the 29th of July, the event will be held at OYDC Zambia's Main hall, with the U-17 team also making an appearance. The primary objective of these matches is to evaluate the performance of all the teams in preparation for the Africa Cup of Nations. Tanzania will be represented by their U-17 and Ladies' teams in the competition. In an interview with Zed Sport yesterday, ZHA expressed their enthusiasm for assembling all the players in a residential camp. This camp aims to boost morale and provide ample time for thorough preparation before the upcoming matches. The final camp is scheduled to commence on July 20, 2023, and will last for seven days, culminating in a friendly encounter against Tanzania. ZHA President Bwalya Banda emphasized the association's commitment to taking every aspect of the preparation seriously, both for the men's and women's teams. Mr. Banda called upon all players to maintain focus during training sessions. Banda further noted that Zambia Handball has successfully participated in all tournaments except for the Olympic and World Cup tournaments, which they aspire to be a part of. The friendly encounter between Zambia and Tanzania holds immense significance for both teams as they gear up for the Handball Olympic qualifiers. It provides a valuable opportunity for the players to showcase their skills and teamwork, identify areas of improvement, and fine-tune their strategies ahead of the crucial championships in January 2024.
