During a courtesy call by National Olympic Committee (NOC) board members, Nkandu emphasized the importance of such interactions and their shared dedication to fostering a thriving sports ecosystem. Nkandu praised the NOC for its continuous efforts in advancing sports development within the country, emphasizing that these engagements should have taken place earlier. He stated, "I am grateful to the National Olympic Committee of Zambia for its engagement; this interaction should have occurred earlier because it reflects the shared commitment towards a thriving sports ecosystem. With the Paris 2024 Olympic Games on the horizon, I can reaffirm the government's unwavering support in preparing Team Zambia for the global stage." To ensure sustained collaboration, Nkandu proposed regular meetings between the NOC and his Ministry, with the frequency of these meetings to be determined through mutual understanding. This commitment underscores the government's dedication to nurturing Zambia's sporting talents and preparing them for success on the international stage.
