NOCZ welcomed Jathel Simwinga, who serves as the Technical Director for the Zambia Taekwondo Federation and holds the position of National Team Coach. He recently returned from a coaching development program in the United States, which he described as a highly positive development for both Zambia's sports sector and the federation as a whole. During his training, Simwinga completed an apprenticeship with the USA National Taekwondo Federation and the University of Delaware. Following the successful completion of his training, his role now involves training and accrediting local coaches across Zambia's provinces. These intensive three-week residential training sessions were a pivotal part of a year-long curriculum that initially commenced online in April of this year. Accompanied by Linda Kabaghe, the General Secretary of the Zambia Taekwondo Federation, and Likando Nangonde, the Taekwondo President, the team received a warm welcome from Boniface Kambikambi, the Secretary General of NOCZ (National Olympic Committee of Zambia). The federation's president expressed deep appreciation to NOCZ for their unwavering support and the opportunities extended to the federation, underscoring the program's undeniable benefits for the sport. Nangonde emphasized that this program would lead to an expanded presence of the sport as local coaches from various provinces undergo training. The federation is particularly delighted that their coaching network will now have a national scope.
