The President of the National Olympic Committee of Zambia (NOCZ), Alfred Foloko, along with Vice President Hazel Kennedy and Chairperson of the Gender Equity Sport Commission, Susanna Dakik, have convened in Sal, Cape Verde, to participate in the Association of National Olympic Committees of Africa (ANOCA) Gender Equality Forum. This crucial event is scheduled from October 2nd to 3rd, 2023. The forum serves as a pivotal gathering, uniting prominent figures within Africa's Olympic Movement to deliberate on strategies for promoting gender equality in all facets of sports organizations' operations. This initiative aims to guide and drive the transformation of sport organizations towards a more gender-balanced future. The ANOCA Gender Equality Forum is being held today through tomorrow, Tuesday, in Cabo Verde, bringing together key decision-makers within Africa's Olympic Movement. Special feature: At 17 years old, Natsiraishe Maritsa was already on the path to becoming a gender equality champion in 2021 when she was named the winner of the IOC Women and Sport Award for Africa. This recognition was in acknowledgment of her efforts to empower young girls in Zimbabwe through taekwondo.
