Green Buffaloes Women’s Football Club, the reigning champions of the Zambia Women’s Super League, have been designated as seeds ahead of the upcoming draw for the CAF Women’s Champions League | COSAFA Qualifier 2023. They are joined by Mamelodi Sundowns in the seeded positions. Green Buffaloes will lead Group A in the draw, while Mamelodi Sundowns will head Group B. This draw is set to take place on Thursday. The successful clubs from this year's event will secure their spots in the continental finals scheduled to be held in Ivory Coast in November. Among the teams, Double Action Ladies from Botswana and Olympic De Moroni from Comoros have been placed in pot 2. One of these two teams will be drawn into Group A, while the other will be placed in Group B. The remaining four teams, namely Young Buffaloes from Eswatini, Lesotho Defence Force from Lesotho, debutants Ntopwa FC from Malawi, and Costa Do Sol from Mozambique, will be drawn into one of the pools to determine their positions as A3, B3, A4, and B4. This process will ultimately shape the composition of the groups and positions for the qualifiers leading up to the continental finals.
