With resounding success, the Children's Cup has drawn to a close, showcasing the participation of more than 20 teams in the tournament, marking a triumphant return following a hiatus due to the Covid-19 pandemic. The Board of the University Sports Association (BUSA) extends its heartfelt gratitude to NOWSPAR for their invaluable support in this year's tournament. NOWSPAR's provision of essential equipment played a pivotal role in the success of the children's tournament. "We extend our sincere appreciation to NOWSPAR Women In Sport for their dedicated support in this year's Annual Children's Cup Football and Educational Festival. Their contribution of equipment and life skills sessions throughout the event has been instrumental," shared BUSA. In a parallel endeavor, Grassroots Soccer, an integral part of this year's tournament, took on a crucial role in imparting knowledge about sexual reproductive health and rights to the participants. Empowering them with vital information on safeguarding against sexually transmitted infections and fostering a wholesome lifestyle. "I am immensely gratified to have been part of the training and mentorship sessions, right from the commencement of the tournament to this very moment. This experience has equipped me with the knowledge to better understand my health while actively participating in sports," expressed Jackson Banda, a participant, in conversation with Zed Zed Sport. This resounding success underscores the profound impact of tournaments such as these, uniting over 1,000 young individuals from diverse communities. Beyond the athletic competition, these gatherings serve as crucibles for personal development and the cultivation of interpersonal growth.
