The Zambia National Futsal Team's FIFA rankings have surged by two positions, climbing from 9th to 7th, following their victory in the FIFA tournament held in Croatia. Moreover, Zambia's global ranking has improved significantly, now standing at 92nd worldwide compared to 96th in December last year, marking a notable four-place ascent with a total of 809 points. Outstandingly, Chinyama, Jackson Chitungu, and Phiri delivered exceptional performances, resulting in Chinyama receiving the Top Goalscorer award, Chitungu being named Best Goalkeeper, and Phiri earning the title of Best Player of the tournament. The Best Starting Five for the tournament featured Chitungu, Chota Chileshe, Chinyama, and Wiseman Phiri representing Zambia, alongside Pavle Vukcevic from Montenegro. The Zambia National Futsal Team's remarkable performance in the Futsal September Cup 2023, marked by impressive victories and individual accolades, solidified their position as the tournament champions.
