Premier Futsal League
The Premier Futsal League (PFL) has officially announced the commencement of the new Football Association of Zambia (FAZ)/PFL season on Thursday, October 5th. The reigning champions, Lusaka Automotive, will kick off the season by facing the newly promoted Mthunzi Futsal Club in the Week-1 match at the Automotive Indoor Futsal Arena. FAZ/PFL Chairman Tarak Mehta expressed excitement about the upcoming season, with clubs determined to dethrone Automotive. Mehta, who led the Zambia National Futsal team to victory in two European tournaments last month, highlighted that the new season would help keep national team players in top form for the critical Futsal Africa Cup qualifiers. "The date of the beginning of the league was linked to our qualifiers which were supposed to be between October 6th and 10th, but there has been no news from CAF, and now our focus shifts to the domestic league," Mehta said. In addition, Andrea Cristoforetti, the coach of Lusaka Automotive and the head coach of the National Futsal team, eagerly anticipated the challenging new season.
