Zambian striker Justin Shonga has started life in Georgia on a very good note, scoring two goals in his first appearance for his new club FC Gagra. Shonga scored a brace in Gagra's 3-2 friendly win over FC Gareji, who compete in the Erovnuli Liga 2, the second tier of the Georgian football league. The 26-year-old recently joined Gagra from MTN Super League side Nkwazi, where he scored 10 goals and provided seven assists last season. Gagra is a two-time Georgian Cup winner and has previously competed in Europe, having appeared in the UEFA Europa League during the 2011/12 season and the UEFA Conference League in the 2021/22 season. Shonga will be hoping to help Gagra challenge for honors in the Erovnuli Liga this season, and his early goalscoring form suggests he could be a key player for the club.
