Copper Queens players, Grace Chanda and Hazel Nali, who fell ill before the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup, are still in New Zealand for medical care. The Minister of Sports, Youth, and Arts, Elvis Nkandu, reaffirmed the government's commitment to the players' well-being during their recovery. He assured that the government would provide all necessary support, including covering medical expenses. Nkandu conveyed this message through Zambia's High Commissioner to Australia and New Zealand, Dr Elias Munshya, during his visit to the players. Dr Munshya expressed deep appreciation to the dedicated medical professionals caring for Chanda and extended sincere gratitude to Dr Mwandila Munanga, Chairperson of the Zambians In Aotearoa New Zealand Association, for their invaluable assistance in facilitating contacts for Nali's upcoming surgery.
