The Football Association of Zambia (FAZ)has provided a comprehensive update on player fitness, assuring that, overall, there are no medical illnesses affecting the team. The majority of players are in good training condition, although three players stand out due to specific fitness concerns. Evans Kangwa, who suffered an injury shortly after his call-up to the team, remains under scrutiny following a recent physical assessment conducted approximately two days ago. The evaluation revealed persistent tenderness and reduced strength in the back of his thigh, necessitating a few additional weeks of physiotherapy and intensified training. Consequently, Kangwa was excused from reporting to camp. In contrast, Kelvin Mubanga Kampamba, recovering from a hamstring injury sustained on November 4th, has demonstrated positive progress. Having commenced training a week later, he is now deemed fit for both training sessions and active gameplay. Lubambo Musonda, facing an injury resulting in pain and swelling, received prompt treatment from his club. Although FAZ requested him to report to camp for further assessment, the limited time available makes it highly unlikely for Musonda to complete the recovery process and initiate training, significantly diminishing the likelihood of his participation in upcoming matches.
