Zambia Women's National Team head coach Bruce Mwape has named his squad for the upcoming Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) qualifiers against Angola. The first leg will be played in Angola on November 29th, with the return fixture scheduled for December 5th in Zambia. Skipper Barbra Banda leads the strikers' list, joined by Zanaco Ladies FC striker Sarah Jere, who impressed on her national team debut at the COSAFA Women's Championship in South Africa in October. Fridah Kabwe, who also had a strong showing at the COSAFA tournament. Spanish-based Rachael Kundananji, Israel-based Rachael Nachula makes her return to the team after missing recent outings. Agnes Phiri and Eneless Phiri complete the list of strikers. Turkish-based midfielder Misozi Zulu also returns to the national team, partnering her club teammates Hellen Chanda and veteran Susan Banda. Irene Lungu, Avel Chitundu, and Mexico-based Prisca Chilufya also return to the team, with the ever-impressive Susan Katongo completing the list of summoned midfielders. Coach Bruce Mwape is hoping for a positive start away from home against Angola. The Copper Queens are aiming to qualify for the WAFCON tournament for the third time in a row, but they will need to emerge victorious after the two legs to secure their place at the 2024 WAFCON finals in Morocco.
