Chipata United apparently found themselves stranded in Solwezi, North-Western Province where they had traveled for two matches against Lumwana Radiants and Quattro Kalumbila in the National Division One. Despite managing a scoreless draw against Lumwana and a 1-all result against Quattro Kalumbila, the team is unable to return due to accumulating bills at a lodge and a lack of funds for fuel. As of Wednesday, the club needed K15,000 for their expenses, but only K1,180 had been raised from supporters through mobile money platforms. Zondiwe Hara, the Football Association of Zambia's Eastern Province secretary, called on well-wishers to support the team in this difficult situation. Hara highlighted the financial challenges the club is facing and acknowledged coach Esau Zulu's efforts, who has been using personal resources to ensure the team fulfills its away fixtures. In an interview, Hara urged the club executive committee to be innovative and alleviate the burden on Coach Zulu. However,Chipata United team manager,Chibisa Banda refuted these reports yesterday after fans and well-wishers had already donated K1,180 to the club. This statement has been received as a way of maintaining the club's image, with Chipata United fans saying the same money they donated is what the team used to travel back if at all they have. The furious fans insist that the club needed to show honesty and appreciate the financial support rendered instead of saying the reports were untrue.
