The Zambia Women's National Team, famously known as the Copper Queens, are set to enter camp today, November 19, in preparation for their upcoming Women's Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) first leg qualifiers against Angola. The match is scheduled for November 29, 2023, in Angola. Head coach Bruce Mwape and his technical bench will begin preparations with the locally based players, who will be joined by the Kazakhstan-based players whose league ended last month. However, some of the foreign-based players will miss the initial camp and will only join the team when the FIFA women's international window opens on November 27, 2023. Zambia is aiming for their fourth consecutive appearance at the WAFCON and hopes to build on their highest-ever podium finish, where they secured the bronze medal at the 2022 WAFCON held in Morocco. The Copper Queens will host Angola in the return leg on December 5, 2023, at home. The winner over the two legs will secure a place in next year's tournament to be hosted by Morocco.
