The Chipolopolo Boys of Zambia have settled in Marrakesh ahead of their crucial encounter against Niger on Tuesday in Matchday Two of the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers. Zambia is currently at the top of Group E with three points following their impressive 4-2 win over Congo Brazzaville on Friday. The team held their first training session on Monday evening, gearing up for the match against Niger. They are determined to maintain their top spot in the group and continue their impressive start to the qualification campaign. In his "Presidential Corner" on Monday, Football Association of Zambia (FAZ) President Andrew Kamanga expressed optimism about the qualification campaign. He highlighted the team's progress over the years and emphasized their readiness for the big occasion. "We have a good feeling about this campaign based on the progress that our team has made over the years," Kamanga stated. "We believe that they are motivated and ripe for the big occasion. We will not stop to dream as we believe Zambia deserves to be at the World Cup in the 59-year history." Zambia is aiming to make their maiden World Cup appearance in 2026, and with the quality of players available to coach Avram Grant, that dream can certainly become a reality. Under Grant's leadership, the Chipolopolo have maintained an unbeaten record in five competitive matches, winning four and drawing one. To achieve their World Cup aspirations, Zambia needs to build on their strong start to the campaign, especially considering they are in a group that includes Morocco, who became the first African country to reach the semi-finals of the World Cup in 2022.
