The Leicester City center forward who has lacked game time with his club so far this campaign scored two goals for Zambia in a 4-2 win over Congo Brazzaville in the 2026 World Cup qualifiers played on Friday in Ndola and his performance elated national team coach Avram Grant. Speaking in a post-match interview when asked what he thought of Patson Daka's performance Avram Grant said that Patson Daka is a good striker despite his conventional rate dropping from 100% to 50 % in the match on Friday "He is a very good striker, He scored 2 goals and he has scored in almost every game since I have been here. Normally he takes his chances 100%, today it was a little bit 50% but he has been good for us." Grant repeated his concern about the lack of game time with Leicester City for a striker of Daka's calibre. “He is doing a very good job. His movement is good. It’s not so good that he is not playing for his club so it’s not helping us a lot but he has good character." Daka's latest goals took him into the top ten of Zambia's all time goal scorers with 17 goals for Chipolopolo level with James Chamanga who occupies the 9th position and can be overtaken by Daka if he scores on Tuesday against Niger. The top ten sees names like Godfrey CHITALU who sits on number 1 with 79 goals to his name followed by Alex Chola 43, Kalusha Bwalya 39, Bernard Chanda 29, Christopher Katongo 23, Collins Mbesuma 22, Dennis Lota 21, Kenneth Malitoli 19, James Chamanga 17 and Daka on 10th with 17 goals too. Daka will be looking to continue with his fine form for the national team and he has scored eight goals for Zambia this year alone.
