Forest Rangers Football Club has appointed Mwenya Chipepo as their new head coach, effective immediately. Chipepo brings a wealth of experience to the club, having previously led Power Dynamos to victory in the MTN Super League and qualification for the CAF Champions League. He has also worked with Young Power Dynamos and other Super Division Teams, including Indeni and Prison Leopards Football Clubs. Chipepo will be assisted by Coach Manchi Janza, formerly of Lusaka Dynamos. The two coaches have been signed to a 2-year, 6-month contract. The announcement was made during a press briefing held at Dola Hill Stadium today, November 22, 2023. Mr. Mwaba Mulawo, the club Chairman, confirmed the exciting development, expressing confidence that the appointment of Coach Chipepo and Coach Janza would not only instil hope but also deliver the desired results. "We firmly believe these appointments will not only instil hope among our stakeholders but also yield the desired results on the field," Mr. Mulawo said. "With the exceptional quality of players at the club's disposal and the expertise that the Coaches bring, we firmly believe that Forest Rangers can both qualify for and defend the ABSA Cup." The club has set a challenge for Coach Chipepo to lead the team to qualification for the ABSA Cup in the remaining six games of the first half of the season. Meanwhile, Forest Rangers has mutually agreed to part ways with Assistant Coach Kennedy Kashobondo. Coach Kashobondo assumed the role of interim head coach following Ian Bakala's departure in September. The club chairman expressed gratitude to Coach Kashobondo for his hard work and dedication during his tenure. "Indeed, it is important to acknowledge the instrumental role Coach Kennedy Kashobondo played in our journey to securing our first ABSA Cup title. During a period when Coach Bakala was unavailable due to his studies and national team commitments, he stepped up and we are grateful for his dedication and hard work. On behalf of the management, executive, players, and fans, we express our heartfelt appreciation to him," The Club Chairman said.
