Copper Queens assistant coach Florence Mwila has provided an update on the team's preparations for their upcoming Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) Qualifiers first leg against Angola, which is scheduled to take place in Angola on November 29th. Mwila expressed satisfaction with the team's progress during their training camp in Lusaka, which is currently in its Second day. She highlighted that 15 players have already reported for camp, with the ZESCO girls players expected to join them later today following their match against Chipata Girls. "Training is going on well with the players that have already reported for camp," Mwila said. "We have 15 players in camp because I think the Zesco players will be joining this evening because they have a match which will take the number to 20, then we have professional players except for Ireen Lungu, Martha Tembo and Catherine Musonda who are already in camp for other professional players they will join direct in Angola." Unfortunately, Sarah Jere and Eneless Phiri have been ruled out of the Angola fixture due to injuries. However, Mwila expressed optimism about the team's overall fitness and preparation, noting that training has been going well with both the local players and the three professional players already in camp. "We are looking forward to the game against Angola," Mwila said. "This is a different ball game all together that was Cosafa this is Africa cup everyone wants to go to Africa cup , they will beef up their team as well because they know about Barbra Banda, Kundananji am sure they also have professional players that they want to use to beef up the team it won't be like Cosafa it will be tough , we just need to prepare and not to underrate thinking about Cosafa." Mwila also stressed the significance of starting the qualifiers with a win away from home, as it can boost morale and set the tone for the second leg. She reiterated that the away fixture is a must-win for the Copper Queens. "Away is always a must to win because it gives you more morale when you win as an away team to push hard when you come back home," Mwila said. Regarding the venue change for the second leg, which will be played at Ndola's Levy Mwanawansa Stadium instead of their usual Lusaka home ground, Mwila acknowledged the difference in environment but expressed confidence in the team's ability to adapt. She emphasized the importance of home ground advantage and called upon the Copperbelt fans to support the team. "It's going to be a good one for the girls we are used to Lusaka environment it's going to be a different environment on the copperbelt but just that home ground advantage always something that 12th player is always needed," Mwila said. She also sent a message to the Copperbelt people saying "Copperbelt people we are coming you have been coming to Lusaka now we are coming at your do step."
