Zambia - Copper Queens assistant coach Florence Mwila has revealed that Zanaco Ladies FC forward Sarah Jere and Eneless Phiri will miss Zambia's crucial first leg Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Angola due to injury. Jere, who was the shining star of Zambia's Cosafa Women's journey in South Africa in October of this year, was looking forward to making her full debut for the Copper Queens. However, her dream will have to wait for now as she is sidelined with an injury. Phiri, is also on the doctor's table and will not be available for the November 29th clash in Angola. Zambia will be hoping for a positive start away from home before hosting Angola at home on December 5th, 2023. The winner of the two-legged tie will qualify for next year's WAFCON tournament in Morocco. Jere and Phiri will be hoping to get back to fitness soon as the Copper Queens also have Olympic Qualifiers against Ghana in February 2024. Both players are important figures for their respective clubs as the Zambian Women's Super League is in its early stages.
