Ireen Lungu who is currently playing in the Kazakhstan league, has expressed confidence in the Copper Queens' readiness for their upcoming AFCON qualifiers against Angola. The first leg of the qualifiers is scheduled to take place on November 29th. Lungu, who has been a key player for the Copper Queens in recent years, highlighted the team's positive training progress and emphasized the importance of fan support. She also acknowledged the high expectations surrounding the team and expressed their determination to make history and bring home the WAFCON title. "The training is going on well, everyone is ready and looking forward to the games against Angola," Lungu stated. "The expectations are high and the tournaments we played in the past so I think the only thing we are looking at is to keep pushing each other so that we win the first game in Angola." Recalling the Copper Queens' third place finish in the last WAFCON, Lungu emphasized the importance of qualifying for the upcoming tournament and ultimately winning the competition. She stated that the team is determined to make history and bring home the WAFCON title. "It's very important because the tournament we played very well and all the fans and the country is looking upon the copper Queen's. The only thing we are supposed to do is qualify but our aim is to carry the WAFCON." Lungu also addressed the integration of new players into the squad, expressing her commitment to helping them seamlessly join the team. She emphasized the importance of teamwork and unity in achieving the team's goals. "The first thing is to welcome them and to Keep on pushing them so that we can be on the same level. We are experienced compared to them but the only thing we supposed to do is to pushing them so that there is no big difference." The midfielder expressed gratitude for the fans' support and requested their continued backing. She assured them that the team will do their best to represent Zambia proudly and achieve victory. The Copper Queens are set to face Angola in the first leg of their WAFCON qualifiers on November 29th in Angola. The second leg will take place on December 5th in Ndola at the Levy Mwanawasa stadium.
