Zambian midfielder Emmanuel Banda has returned on target for his club Rijeka in a 2-0 win over NK Varazdin in the Croatian HNL league round 16 of league match. The Zambian midfielder needed just 12 minutes to put Rijeka in front away from home to set the team on a 9th win of the campaign. Rijeka went to score their second goal of the match in the second half in 53rd minutes through an own goal by Luka Škaričić who stick the ball into his own net to give the vistors a two goal advantage. However Banda was substituted in three minutes after an hour mark having already made a positive contribution to the team that managed to hold on to lead and Move points tally to 31 points just two points behind leaders HNK Hajduk Split who are on 33 pints from 15 games both teams have played. Banda provided an assist in Zambia 4-2 win over Congo Brazzaville in Ndola on match day one for the 2026 world cup qualifiers encounter before going on to be part of the team that played in a 2-1 defeat against Niger on match day two in Morocco in what was an average performance from Zambia. He will be looking to keep his club form positive ahead of Africa cup of Nations in January.
