CHIPOLOPOLO forward Fashion Sakala opened his account in the Asian Champions League with a goal and an assist as Saudi Pro League side Al-Fayha beat FC Ahal of Turkmenistan 3-1 in an Asian Champions League Group A matchday five encounter played Tuesday evening in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. Sakala put up an impressive performance, getting involved in all three goals. He won the penalty for the first goal, which was converted by Nigerian forward Anthony Nwakaeme. He then netted the second goal via a Sultan Mandash assist and returned the favor to Mandash when he assisted the third goal that sealed the victory for Al-Fayha. The 26-year-old forward needed five games to register his name in the competition, having played four games without finding the back of the net. Al-Fayha's win helped them move to third on the log with six points, six points behind leaders Al-Ain of the UAE and just one point behind second-placed Pakhtakor of Uzbekistan. Ahal drops to the bottom of the table with four points. The decisive match comes through next week Tuesday when Pakhtakor hosts Al-Fayha in the last group fixture. A win for Al-Fayha and a draw or loss for Pakhtakor would see Sakala's side qualify for the knockout stage of the competition.
