In an exciting poorly attended exbition match played at National Heroes Stadium in Lusaka on Saturday, the African Legends and the Zambia 2012 AFCON Legends Generation drew 2-2. The match was the third that the Zambia Legends have played, having previously faced Barcelona Legends in May, Malawi Legends in October, and now the African Legends in an event organized by Kings of Africa. The match started with a bang as Zambia Legends took an early lead through Emmanuel Mayuka, the 2012 AFCON Golden Boot winner, who put Zambia ahead just seven minutes into the match. However, the African Legends responded quickly, drawing level through an own goal by Chintu Kampamba. The African Legends then took the lead from the penalty spot in the 23rd minute, with Cameroon legend and two-time Africa Cup of Nations champion Patrick M'boma converting the spot-kick. The score remained 2-1 at halftime. The second half saw Zambia draw level just six minutes from full-time through second-half substitute and 2007 Young African Player of the Year award winner Clifford Mulenga. The match went to penalties, with the Zambian Legends emerging victorious after a thrilling shootout winning 10-9 on penalties after 24 penalties were taken with kalusha Bwalya having his penalty saved by Kalililo Kakonje. Kalusha Bwalya, the 1998 African Footballer of the Year, who coached the African Legends, also made an appearance in the second half. South African legend Siphiwe Tshabalala and Togolese international Emmanuel Adebayor were also in action, entertaining the crowd in a game that brought together the sons of Africa's legends and Zambia's most celebrated team of 2012. However the match didn't attract a similar number of spectator's to that of Barcelona legends in may as only small number of people attended the match on Saturday.
