The Copper Queens have qualified for the 2024 Women's Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) with an impressive 12-0 win against Angola over both legs. The icon duo of Racheal Kundananji and Barbra Banda once again inevitably etched their names on the score sheet giving Zambia a 2-0 lead before half time. Susan Banda tripled Zambia's lead in the 46th minute, extending the aggregate score to 9-0 making it impossible for Angola to pull of any sort of miraculous comeback. It kept raining goals as Avell Chitundu netted the 4th goal in the 71st minute and not long after,Esther Banda found the back of the net to give Copper Queens their 5th goal of the game. Coach Bruce Mwape stuck to his promise to give more players game time making shocking substitutions such as goalkeeper Catherine Musonda for Ngambo Musole. More substitutions followed as Evarine Katongo came off for Misozi Zulu and Hellen Chanda replaced Captain Barbra Banda. Just when Angola thought the fulltime whistle will come to their rescue, the phenomenal Racheal Kundananji scored her second goal in the 89th minute and danced into WAFCON glory with skipper Barbra Banda shortly before she was subbed off.
