Africa Netball is in the process of securing sponsors to ease the financial challenges faced by teams participating in tournaments. Martha Lungu-Sichone, who serves as the reelected Treasurer and President of Netball Zambia, shared that the continental governing body has identified potential sponsors capable of covering expenses such as food and accommodation for teams during tournaments. Sichone emphasizes the importance of governmental support in fostering the growth of the sport. She has called on governments to contribute funds to ensure that netball can reach the desired standards. Sichone highlighted that adequate funding could have significantly enhanced attendance at the 2023 Africa Netball Cup. Unfortunately, some teams had to withdraw from the competition at the last minute due to financial constraints and other reasons, impacting the overall participation with 6 female and 4 male teams.
