Fashion Sakala scored the lone goal for Al-Fayha, but it was not enough as they fell 4-1 to Al-Taawoun in the Saudi Pro League on Friday. Al-Fayha, currently 9th in the standings with 19 points, hoped to carry over their impressive form from continental football, where they defeated Pakhtakor 4-1 away. However, they were unable to hold onto their early lead despite taking the lead six minutes into the game through Sakala. The home side quickly equalized through Mateus Castro in the 15th minute. In the 31st minute, Henry Onyekuru thought he had put Al-Fayha back in front, but his goal was disallowed by VAR six minutes later. VAR then awarded a penalty to the home team, which Ashraf El Mahdioui converted to give Al-Taawoun a 2-1 lead at halftime. Second-half goals from Musa Barrow and Abdulfattah Adam Mohammed in the 62nd and 84th minutes respectively sealed the win for Al-Taawoun. Despite the loss, Fashion Sakala has been in excellent form for Al-Fayha lately. He has now scored four goals and provided three assists in his last four games for the club in all competitions.
