Frankie Musonda played for his Scottish Championship side Ayr United in a 1-0 defeat away to Dundee United, extending their winless run to five games. Ayr United, who missed out on promotion to the Scottish Premiership last campaign through playoffs, have struggled to replicate their form from last season. After finishing second to Dundee who secured direct promotion, Ayr United have now failed to win in five consecutive league games. Their last victory came back in October against Dunfermline Athletic, with a lone goal on the 21st. Their only victory since then came in a cup game against Peterhead. The match marked Musonda's return from injury after an extended lay-off. However, they needed a last-minute equalizer to force extra time, with Musonda grabbing an assist before going on to win 2-1. Saturday's defeat to Dundee United leaves Ayr United stuck in 7th place on the log with 14 points after 14 games, a stark contrast to leaders Dundee who sit 20 points ahead and 7 points off the playoff positions. With their form dwindling and the gap between them and their rivals widening, Ayr United face a crucial period in their season as they look to turn things around and climb the table.
