Zambian international forward Gamphani Lungu netted the only goal for Supersport United, who succumbed to a 2-1 defeat against Al-Hilal Benghazi of Libya in a CAF Confederation Cup Group A encounter on Sunday evening. Lungu's strike, the first for Supersport in the competition this season, proved insufficient to earn them their first point of the campaign. Despite his valiant effort, the South African side failed to capitalize on his goal and ultimately succumbed to Al-Hilal's pressure. Algeria's USM Alger currently lead the group with a flawless nine points, followed by Future FC of Egypt with six points. Al-Hilal, with their first win and three points, now occupy third position. Unfortunately, Supersport remain rooted at the bottom of the table without a point after three matches. With only three games remaining, Supersport urgently need to find their winning touch. Failure to do so, particularly in the return leg against Al-Hilal, will likely spell the end of their journey in the CAF Confederation Cup this season.
