Zambian football star Barbara Banda has expressed her happiness after being named in the CAF FIFPRO Women's Best Eleven for 2023. The Copper Queens captain took to social media on Tuesday to share her excitement about the recognition, stating: "Happy to have made it to the CAF FIFPRO team of the year, a great honor." Banda, who was also among the top three contenders for the prestigious Women's CAF Player of the Year award (ultimately won by Nigerian international Asisat Oshoala), used her platform to congratulate the winner while expressing her own motivation for the future. "Congratulations to the amazing Asisat Oshoala for winning the player of the year," she wrote. "Happy to have made the top 3 and motivation for me to keep working hard and pushing myself." The Zambian star also extended her congratulations to all the winners at Monday's CAF Awards, including those who didn't take home a trophy. "Congratulations to all the winners in all the categories and hard luck to everyone who did not win," she posted. "You making it to the last three is a win in itself." Banda's inclusion in the CAF FIFPRO Women's Best Eleven is a testament to her outstanding contribution to Zambian football. Her leadership, skills, and dedication have played a pivotal role in elevating the Copper Queens to new heights on the global stage.
